Is VEYDEX real investing?
No. No money is invested and nothing here is investment advice. It's a way to practice stock analysis and prove your judgment with an honest, public record.
What's a “call”?
A call is a short pitch that a stock will beat the market (Long) or lag the market (Short) over a set time: 1 day, 1 week, the end of this week, 1, 3, 6, or 12 months, or a date you pick. You give 1–3 reasons and say what would prove you wrong.
How is a call scored?
We compare the stock's return to the S&P 500 (SPY) over the exact same window. For a Long call, beating SPY is a win. For a Short call, lagging SPY is a win. The difference is your excess return.
Why can't I edit or delete a call?
Because that's what makes the record trustworthy. Every call counts, good or bad. Recruiters can trust a record that can't be cherry-picked.
Why does my call start at tomorrow's open?
Your entry price is the opening price of the next trading session after you submit. That stops anyone from reacting to news they already saw during the day.
How many calls can I make?
Free accounts can make 1 new call per day; Plus members can make 3. New calls unlock every morning at 6:30 AM Pacific (9:30 AM Eastern), right when the market opens, including weekends.
When do I show up on the leaderboard?
After 3 closed calls. Rankings use the VEYDEX Score, which rewards consistency over one lucky call.
What does the Verified student badge mean?
You confirmed your school email address with a one-time code. .edu (and similar school-only) emails verify instantly; other school emails, like many high schools' .org or .us addresses, are checked by a person first. It shows which school you attend, and one school email can verify only one account.
Who can see my exact returns?
Anyone can see your score, win rate, call count, and recent wins and losses. Your exact returns, full call history, and detailed breakdowns are visible only to you and to recruiters who subscribe to VEYDEX for Recruiters, who can also view portfolios that Plus members choose to share. They can only message you if you turn on “Open to recruiter contact,” and your email is shared only if you accept.
Does Plus make my record more “verified”?
No. Free and Plus records are scored and verified exactly the same way. Plus adds more daily calls, shows you which recruiters viewed your record, features you in recruiter search, and adds deeper stats, a PDF report, a LinkedIn share card, and a portfolio you can share with recruiters.
